Attention NYC Construction Industry – NYC DOB Local Law 196 Training Requirements Are Now In Effect!
Local Law 196 (LL196) of 2017 requires workers at jobsites that must designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager to receive a certain amount of training, in order to continue working in NYC.
As of 12/1/19, all workers are required to have a completed 30 HR OHSA and have either their OSHA card or Limited SST card in hand while working onsite. Supervisors are required to have completed 62 hours of training and have obtained a Supervisor SST card.
As of 3/1/21, workers will be required to have completed another 10 hours of training (for a total for 40 hours) and have received a full SST card.

To accommodate the extra demand for training, Safety Supplies Unlimited (SSU) has partnered up with sister company, TSC Training Academy (TSCTA), to form TSCTA-NJ and are now offering courses in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Training will be offered in English/Spanish and will be available in a variety of course schedules, including weekend options.

- 2 HR Drug and Alcohol Awareness Seminar
Courses Required for Supervisors
- 30 HR OSHA Construction
- 8 HR Fall Prevention
- 2 HR Drug and Alcohol Awareness Seminar
- 4 HR User Supported Scaffold
- 4 hours of general and specialized electives which can be obtained by completing the 4 HR General and Specialized Electives SST Course Bundle
- Each of the following 2 hour courses:
- Drug and Alcohol Awareness
- Toolbox Talks
- Site Safety Plan
- Pre-Task Meetings
- all of the above required course topics can be obtained by taking the 8 HR Prescribed SST Course
